Committees

Education Outreach Committee:  Being a Girl in Today’s World  Karen Samuels contacted Dr. Amy Hall, Ph.D. regarding ongoing efforts in the Volusia Middle Schools.  We intend to have a COPE member, Debbie Yarbrough, attend a middle school Guidance Counselor meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 26^th.

Deland Library Health Fair:   Ellen Babanin presented Being a Girl in Today’s World to girls in a workshop setting.

SCHS-IB Advocates Meeting  for IB parents at Spruce Creek High School, Scheduled for Jan. 9^th at 6pm.  Debbie Yarbrough, Brenda O’Donnell and Karen Samuels will attend and present.

Tampa IAEDP chapter will host a fund raiser on Saturday, Dec. 7^th, 2013.  Special Guest:  Jenni Schaefer will speak/perform.

NEDA PARTNERS monthly conference call: next call is noon on Dec. 5^{th, 2013}.  Sarah Benson will represent COPE on the call.

Renfrew Conference-Philadelphia, PA.  Karen Samuels reported on the Conference for Eating Disorders Professionals held Nov. 8-10^th.    

COPE Community event planning:  Committee members reported and planned in detail the upcoming event:  COPE Presents:  Celebrate EVERY BODY.  Location:  RENEW Yoga, 220 Beach St., Daytona Beach, Time: 1-3:30pm.  This will be a fundraiser to raise awareness, outreach and funds to provide scholarships for treatment to local individuals in need. We have 3 donors who will match funds raised! 

The committee has determined numerous steps in planning.

Saturday, Feb. 15^th, 2014, 1-3:30pm, COPE PRESENTS:  Celebrate EVERYBODY!!!  Mark your calendars for this special event and fundraiser.
